separations

was reminded and decided to flip back to old entries. come sunday it'd be exactly one year after the first time i was introduced to w372.
one year, passed just like that.
i can still remember scenes and episodes here and there. the first person i talked to, the first time i joined you guys for svc, my first fellowship with you guys after svc was at ps, i remember easter, and it was only after the change that i started attending cg regularly
vivid images, yet it has already been one full year.
and it was only after flipping through the entries that i realised so much has happened over the past 365 days.
so much has changed.
i hate separations.
yet over 365 days there were so many times i had to say goodbye to the people around me.
some left and are still overseas, some left and came back, some left without even saying a proper goodbye.
some leave to pursue their personal interests, some leave to focus on other priorities, some leave to enter a new phase in life.
some separations are physical, some are emotional, as relationships are tested and some emerge strained.
no matter what, i guess we all have our own lives to walk. we cannot run our race for others, and others cannot run it for me.
and no one will run alongside you all the time.
except God.
i guess that makes life more exciting? as you look forward to meeting the next batch of cheerleaders who will push you through the next phase. the new experiences that you will gain, the new relationships that you will form, the new circle that you are going to influence.
i still hate separations, but i know that God is a God of restoration.
and i've realised that those who are supposed to stay close to you, will remain close despite the separation.
i'd say i've grown up a little bit more over the past one year (:
that said, im glad 365 days ago i said yes.

i vividly remember the previous 2 times i responded.
ytd was the 3rd, at youth meeting.
it was so so real.
